NEW ONLINE TRAINING FOR CHANGE MAKERS

Business in the digital age is technology, and technology is business. If your understanding of technology is limited and you can't talk to architects, CTOs or developers without falling into a coma, it's time to update your skills today.

Learn the basic technology concepts necessary to lead businesses in the digital era.

You can study this course completely independently, on your own schedule, and also anonymously - we will not share your information with anyone, and there is no alumni group or online community for the course. So you can take part in the course without need to worry that anyone will know. Well, of course we at Change Makers' Society, as coaches and service providers, do get that information, but that's about it.

In the Tech basics for business leaders course, we’ll share for instance:

  • Why is technology at the core of every business?

  • Why is the digital revolution so difficult for so many companies to implement?

  • The union of business and technology:

    • Why and how technology works as a business enabler

    • Why business and customer needs should determine requirements for technical capabilities

    • Why digital channels play a significant role in business growth

    • Why data is essential in business leadership and decision-making

    • How an agile culture can support digital transformation

  • Essential technical key concepts and terms explained in layman's terms

In the digital age, technology is at the heart of every company. As a leader, you need to understand technology to grasp the business opportunities and constraints it presents and to be able to engage in discussions with subject matter experts. In this course, you will learn the most important digital age tech concepts in a compact package, at a time that suits you best.

This course is for you, if you say “yes” to at least one of these:

  • You feel that you can’t engage into discussions with the CTO / CIO or your tech colleagues even if you wanted to, because you don’t always fully understand what’s being said, or you’re afraid to take a stand when you’re unsure of your level of understanding

  • You act as a business owner, product owner, designer, manager or expert with no prior technical education or understanding of technology

  • You make strategic business decisions or participate in strategic decision-making for example regarding must-win-battles or investments

  • You would like to learn the core concepts of technology from the perspective of digital age business and leadership

  • You are interested in expanding your understanding of technology

What’s in it for you?

This course does not make you a technical expert or a technology guru, but the purpose is to increase your understanding of key terms and concepts to such a level that you can follow the discussion around technology and also take a position on it, at least on a high level.

As a business owner or manager, your task is to show the direction, make those difficult choices and decide on the requirements for investments and capabilities to be invested in. For this you need at least a basic understanding of technology and technical capabilities.

You don't want to be the leader who demands product development to implement "some awesome wow experience with hype technology x" (replace x with, for example, artificial intelligence / robotics / augmented reality / some other technology buzzword, do you? But instead, to be the one who genuinely exploits the business development opportunities that technology provides?
